July Actions
Inspired by our June guest speaker CA State Senator Henry Stern, we would like to highlight the importance of making public comments and raising your voice to people in power. Here are three simple ways to make your voice be heard this month:
1. Make a Comment at a CARB Listening Session
The California Air Resource Board is developing their Scoping Plan to address climate change. Several listening sessions are being held in the next few weeks. Learn what is included in the draft plan. There will be an opportunity for community members and stakeholders to voice their opinion about the plan and encourage CARB to be more aggressive with their climate change goals. Click Here to register.
2. Make a Comment to Shut Down Aliso Canyon
The California Public Utilities Commission will decide the fate of the gas plant at Aliso Canyon. Make a public comment that Aliso Canyon Natural Gas Storage Facility should be shut down. Click Here for more information about making public comments to CPUC.
3. Make a Comment to Stop Neighborhood Drilling
California is the 4th largest consumer of petrol in the world! Transitioning California to renewable energy would make a huge impact on mitigating the climate crisis. There is currently a big push to stop all neighborhood drilling in CA. Click Here to tell Governor Newsom to stop neighborhood drilling and accelerate efforts to transition CA to renewable energy.
