Terry Saucier Receives Pioneer Woman Award
for District 3
In September 2024, Councilmember Bob Blumenfield and his Environment, Climate, and Energy Policy Advisor David Giron honored Terry Saucier with a Pioneer Woman Award for her work as founder and chair of the SoCal Stop Artificial Turf Task Force, as well as her service on the Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance.

In July 2024, founding chair Diana Weynand stepped down for a well-deserved rest, and Digital Communications Coordinator Sharon Ungersma took the reins as Chapter Chair.

Diana Weynand Receives "Woman Of The Year" Award from CA Senator Henry Stern
In June 2024, CA Senator Henry Stern honored Diana Weynand with a “Woman of the Year” award for leading positive change on climate issues and building an organization through which San Fernando Valley citizens can become active climate advocates.
SFVCR has been named District 27's Nonprofit of the Year for 2023!
At May's chapter meeting, CA Senator Henry Stern announced he had chosen The Climate
Reality Project’s San Fernando Valley Chapter to receive the honor of his district’s 2023 “Nonprofit of
the Year” award. “For all the calls you make, and all the work you do, and all the deep dives you take, and all the Zoom meetings and everything...it’s very special what you’ve built here. I have learned so much from you. You’ve become Sacramento fire power now!” said Sen. Stern.

Diana Weynand Receives "Environmentalist Of The Year" Award From
CA Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel
CA State Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel (D - Woodland Hills) honored thirteen local leaders at his 2nd Annual Community Leaders Awards Dinner on December 1st, 2022. Among the recipients was Diana Weynand, Founder and Chair of The Climate Reality Project’s San Fernando Valley Chapter. Weynand received the “Environmentalist of the Year” award for leading positive change on climate issues impacting the San Fernando Valley.
