About the event
The November election is coming up fast, and it's time to get to work. There's a lot of deceptive information spreading about Prop 45, and we're all going to need to work hard to combat it in the coming weeks so that voters are informed before Election Day!
This developer-funded proposition sounds pretty good on the surface: cutting red tape! Streamlining approvals! Speeding construction of affordable housing! But what's really being proposed is a dismantling of the environmental protections that prohibit things like polluting warehouses from being built in residential communities and data centers from being built in sensitive environmental areas.
Once Californians understand what Prop 45 really says, they strongly oppose it, but the text is 42 pages that the average voter won't ever read. That's why we're hosting an evening with experts to explain clearly what changes the proposition is proposing and what the future of California could look like if it passes.
On September 8th, we'll have two guest speakers who will educate us about the potential impacts of Prop 45: Gabriel Tolson, Environmental Policy Advocate with the Planning and Conservation League, and Rachel Hooper, an environmental attorney specializing in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Join us to get your questions answered and learn how to help your community understand the details of Prop 45 before it's time to vote.
