About the event
Worried about your rising energy bills? Wishing you could get rooftop solar but finding the cost prohibitive, or your roof too shaded, or your landlord unwilling? Bright Saver, a nonprofit organization based in Northern California, has made it their mission "to build a movement where plug-in solar is affordable and accessible to all, so people can take control of their energy, one outlet at a time." Plug-in panels, or "balcony solar," are already used throughout Europe; now Bright Saver is working to bring this movement to the US.
Plug-in solar panels connect directly to a standard home outlet, allowing solar energy to flow directly into your home's electrical circuit and reduce the electricity you draw from the grid. The panels can be placed on the ground, on a balcony, on a deck or fence--wherever the sun shines! These movable and cost-efficient solar solutions are affordable for renters as well as home owners. Our Bright Saver guest speakers Cora Stryker (Co-Founder) and Raj Jambotkar (Product Leader) will give us an overview on how plug-in solar is changing the energy landscape and answer all our questions about how the systems work. Come hear the most current news on plug-in solar panels and learn whether they might be right for you!
